If You Have Debt
Seeing how much debt you're in can also be a HUGE motivator. Try to think of the lovely feeling of being debt free, as opposed to wanting to "run away" from being in debt.
Moving TOWARDS a goal of being debt free because it will help you on your wealth journey is FAR BETTER then moving away from it, because you'll have more consistent results.
Think of it as dieting. A yo-yo dieter with a desire "not to be fat" may feel really good with their weight loss, and then when they feel lighter and fitter, go back to their old ways again because the motivation "not to be fat" has gone away. Then, when they feel "fat" again, they will go back to losing weight.
Imagine instead, that the same person decided that getting fitter to be able to play with their kids again was the goal - much more positive right? And this person is far less likely to fall back into bad habits again. It's the same with money.
